Colled siomedig i Bont / Bont disappointed by defeat
06/09/2010 14:03Bont 2-3 Llanfyllin Town
Bydd Bont yn hynod siomedig heddiw wedi iddynt brofi eu colled gyntaf yn Adran 2 Spar y Canolbarth i Lanfyllin dros y penwythnos.
Roedd yn gêm o ddau hanner i ddweud y lleiaf wrth i Bont reoli’r hanner cyntaf a chwarae pêl-droed gwefreiddiol ar adegau. Arweiniodd un symudiad gwych at weld Glyndŵr Hughes yn penio i’r rhwyd, ond siom a gafwyd wrth i’r chwaraewyr ddathlu pan sylweddolwyd fod y llumanwr wedi codi ei fflag am gamsefyll. Roedd Bont yn ymosod ar bob cyfle a mater o amser oedd hi tan i’r gôl gyntaf ddod i Andrew Gilbert wedi symudiad da lawr yr asgell chwith. Daeth yr ail yn fuan wedyn wrth i’r capten Trystan Jones glirio o’i hanner ei hun i draed Glyndŵr Hughes a gurodd ei ddyn cyn mynd heibio i’r golwr i roi’r bêl yn y rhwyd.
Roedd hi’n 2-0 i’r tîm cartref ar yr hanner ond gallai’n hawdd fod yn bedair neu bump.
Roedd Bont yn hyderus wrth gamu allan i’r ail hanner - yn rhy hyderus o bosib, ac yn fuan iawn roedden nhw’n ei chael hi’n anodd ymdrin â system newydd Llanfyllin. Roedd yr ymwelwyr yn ôl yn y gêm wedi 10 munud wrth i gic rydd o’r asgell dde ymddangos i fod yn saff yn nwylo golwr Bont, Trevor Jenkins. Gollyngodd Jenkins y bêl ac fe adlamodd y bêl i’r rhwyd oddi-ar ben-glin un o’r ymwelwyr.
Cododd hyn galon yr ymwelwyr a daethant yn gyfartal yn fuan wedyn gyda gôl debyg iawn i’r gyntaf. Roedd Jenkins yn y gôl yn ymddangos i fod yn gyfforddus wrth i groesiad ddod tuag ato, ond gollyngodd y bêl ychydig lathenni o’r gôl ac fe fownsiodd dros y llinell. Aeth pethau o ddrwg i waeth i’r tîm cartref gyda 20 munud yn weddill. Roedd amddiffyn Bont yn anhrefn llwyr wrth i’r bêl gael ei chwarae i ymosodwr Llanfyllin, Adam Weston. Rhedodd yntau’n glir i roi ei dîm ar y blaen.
Roedd y cefnogwyr cartref mewn sioc wrth i’r ymwelwyr ddathlu. Fe reolodd Bont weddill y gêm ac roedd Llanfyllin yn ymddangos yn ddigon hapus i amddiffyn eu goruchafiaeth. Cyflwynwyd Dewi Evans o’r fainc wrth iddynt wthio am gôl, ond yn ofer.
Bydd rheolwr Bont, Andre Marsh, yn gobeithio am berfformiad gwell gan ei dîm y penwythnos yma wrth iddyn nhw herio Trefaldwyn oddi-cartref yn y gynghrair.

Bont had a bitterly disappointing weekend as they slipped to their first defeat in the Spar Mid Wales Division 2 to Llanfyllin Town.
It was very much the proverbial game of two half’s. Bont dominated the first and played some fantastic football. One great move led to Glyndwr Hughes heading into the net, but the home team were surprised that their celebrations were cut short by an offside flag. Bont were attacking at will, and was only a matter of time before they did score and the goal came by courtesy of Andrew Gilberts left foot after a good move down the left. The second followed shortly as captain Trystan Jones cleared the ball from his own half into the path of Glyndwr Hughes who beat his man and rounded the keeper to slot the ball home.
The half ended with the home side 2-0 up but it could so easily have been four or five.
Bont came out for the second half in a confident mood - maybe too confident as they soon found themselves on the back foot. A change in the visitor’s formation seemed to catch Bont cold and they struggled to gain possession. Llanfyllin pulled one back after 10 minutes as a free kick from their right hand side seemed to be going straight into Trevor Jenkins’ hands, but to everyone’s surprise, Jenkins dropped the ball onto the knee of a Llanfyllin attacker and the ball ended up in the net.
Llanfyllin remained on top and their equaliser was very similar to their first goal as a cross came in from open play and home keeper again dropped the ball which bobbled over the line. Things went from bad to worse with twenty minutes remaining as the visitors scored again to take the lead. Bont’s defence was in total disarray as the ball was pumped forward to Llanfyllin front man Adam Weston who ran clear and rounded the keeper to put his team into the lead.
The Bont supporters were in a state of shock as the visiting fans celebrate and unlikely comeback. Bont dominated the remainder of the match as Llanfyllin seemed happy to sit back and protect their one goal lead. Bont introduced Dewi Evans from the bench as the pressed for an equaliser but to no avail.
Bont Manager, Andre Marsh will hope for a better performance as his team take on Montgomery next week.
