Buddugoliaeth o'r Diwedd / Victory at Last
10/10/2010 11:42Llwyddodd Bont i sicrhau eu buddugoliaeth gyntaf o’r tymor ar Barc Pantyfedwen ddydd Sadwrn (09/10/10) gan guro Rhosgoch.
Fe lwyddodd Bont i beidio ag ildio gôl am y tro cyntaf eleni hefyd mewn gêm a gafodd ei heffeithio arni gan y gwynt cryf ym Mhontrhydfendigaid. Roedd y canlyniad hyd yn oed yn fwy nodedig o ystyried rhai o’r chwaraewyr oedd yn eisiau i’r tîm cartref, yn cynnwys Glyndwr Hughes, Sion Meredith, Dewi Sion Evans, Andrew Gilbert a chapten y clwb, Trystan Jones.
Ifan Jones Evans oedd yr arwr yn sgorio’r ddwy gôl i Bont, mewn beth oedd yn berfformiad tîm gwych.Bont have finally secured their first league win of the season by beating fourth placed Rhosgoch at Parc Pantyfedwen yesterday (09/10/10).
Daeth y gyntaf yn gynnar yn y gêm yn dilyn gwaith gwych gan y cefnwr Ian Lee lawr yr asgell dde. Croesodd Lee i’r postyn pellaf ble’r oedd Evans yn cyrraedd i daro foli i’r rhwyd. Fe greodd y ddau dîm nifer o fân gyfleoedd cyn yr hanner, ond dim i boeni’r ddau amddiffyn yn ormodol.
Bellach yn chwarae yn erbyn y gwynt cryf, roedd Bont yn disgwyl dod o dan bwysau gan eu gwrthwynebwyr, ac roedden nhw yn llygad eu lle. Er hynny, llwyddodd y tîm cartref i amddiffyn yn gul a chyfyngu eu hymwelwyr i ergydion o bellter a chroesiadau dwfn oedd fwy na heb yn mynd allan am giciau gôl oherwydd y gwynt cryf.
Seliodd Bont y fuddugoliaeth gyda rhyw 20 munud yn weddill. Gwnaeth Andre Marsh rediad gwych i mewn i gwrt Rhosgoch a gallai fod wedi mynd i’r llawr wrth i amddiffynnwr ei faglu ond arhosodd ar ei draed. Pan ddaeth ail fagliad doedd dim y gallai wneud ond disgyn gan ennill cic o’r smotyn i’w dîm. Camodd Evans at y smotyn a gyrru’r gol geidwad i’r cyfeiriad anghywir i’w gwneud yn 2-0.
Aeth Rhosgoch ati i geisio dod nôl mewn i’r gêm ond roedd Bont yn soled yn y cefn. Daeth cyfle gorau’r ymwelwyr wrth i un o’r chwaraewyr canol cae guro dau ddyn a ffeindio ei hun yn rhydd o flaen gôl, ond arbedodd Trevor Jenkins yn wych i Bont.
Canlyniad da i Bont felly, ond mae’r dynion mewn oren yn aros yn ail o waelod y gynghrair gyda gemau wrth gefn.
The home side also produced their first clean sheet of the season in what were difficult, windy conditions in Pontrhyfendigaid. The victory was even more of an achievement given some of the names missing from the Bont line-up, which included Glyndwr Hughes, Sion Meredith, Dewi Sion Evans, Andrew Gilbert and club captain Trystan Jones.
Ifan Jones Evans scored both goals for Bont in what was a great team performance.
The first came in the early stages of the game after some great work down the right wing by fullback Ian Lee. Lee crossed to the far post were Evans was free to volley home from close range. Both sides created some half chances before the interval but the defences held firm.
Now playing into the strong win, Bont expected their visitors to come at them in the second half...and they were right. Even so, the home side defended narrowly and restricted Rhosgoch to long range efforts and crosses from the by-line in the strong wind.
Bont sealed the win with 20 minutes left. Andre Marsh made a great run into the penalty area and seemed to be fouled but stayed on his feet. When a second challenge caught the player-manager he was brought down in what was a clear penalty. Evans stepped up to the spot and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.
Rhosgoch desperately searched for a goal to get them back into the game but Bont stayed honest at the back. Rhosgoch did create one good chance when a midfielder beat two men and found himself through on goal, but his finish was saved brilliantly by Trevor Jenkins in the Bont goal.
A good win for Bont, but the tangerine army stay second from bottom for the time being.
